For so many years you focus on college. You get good grades, study, pass tests, and become very acquainted with your local library. For anyone who graduated from high school and right away entered college, they have spend the last seventeen years of their life in school. Getting out of school can be a somewhat scary step. What do you do after college? What will life be like without the school schedule? For many of us, we assume that we will find a great job right away and live happily ever after with our college degree. However, in the bad economy that we are in, it is difficult to find a job period.

Many of us were told by our parents that getting a job was the key to success. If we could just get through college then we would have it made for the rest of our lives. When our parents went to college that was true. Back in a time where hardly anyone went to college, the fact that you had a degree meant that you would land any job you wanted. Now, almost everyone has some form of higher education so the odds of you landing a dream job without any experience is slim to none.

When we first enter the work force and are being offered beginning positions we may feel offended. We have been told since we were little that college was the ticket to a high paying job. While college is the ticket to a successful future, experience is still worth something. For most college graduates, their jobs have been menial at best. Therefore, they still need experience to land a great job. But have no fear, you will be to climb the ladder and your degree will help you.
